We spoke in our last blog about the demand for quality homes in Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall and the busy start to the year, now let’s talk about a few simple things to do when you put your house on the market.
Most people who are looking to move begin their journey by looking on socials and browsing the internet, so quality, engaging videos, and photographs take centre stage and it is very important your home looks its best.
Let’s start with the really obvious; declutter, whip the hoover round and make sure all is tidy. In the garden, similar idea but swap the hoover for the mower, although you can hoover artificial grass!
These simple steps only take a short amount of time but really do make a difference. You may have a few more jobs to do; replace a light, touch up the paintwork or fix a wobbly step. These are small jobs we all mean to do but can overlook, so walk through your home and see what needs to be done. If you are not sure where to start, we are more than happy to advise you so your home looks its best for the photographs and video, which brings us to the heading of this blog.
We had an early morning appointment in the last couple of weeks to take the photos and video to put a new house on the market, but as we got there, we were told the kitchen was initially out of bounds.
The client explained “so sorry, we had a late one last night and a kitchen disco”, so to the sound of the brown bin getting full, we carried on round the rest of the house followed by their dog (name withheld to protect the innocent) who was wearing a bow tie!
I called the client in question to say I might mention the story on our socials, which they were more than happy with. We even got an invite to the housewarming party as the house is now sold, bow tie optional.
So, no night before kitchen discos if you are planning a move and if you need some advice about moving, call in to see us or contact us, as we would love to help you.
